Symphony In A Heartbeat Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Symphony In A Heartbeat

I wake up right back where I started from
Ten years have passed in a wink of an eye
Memories from the past in flashes come
So close yet so faraway pictures lie

The slowing tempo of life's metronome
Running to stand still will just break ones heart
Soon I'll be finished its time to go home
The whole does manifest itself in part

Is the twenty billion beats enough
For how many did produce symphonies
How many bars were in the key of love
Or did ego distort these harmonies

Love is conscious on a higher plane
Yet invisible from this world of Cain
