Swinging In The Wind Poem by Scarlet .....

Swinging In The Wind

Rating: 5.0

oh fond memory
that little girl laying in her tire swing
laughing and smiling
enjoying the sun
the warm embrace of its rays
what happen to that little girl
for she had a pure heart of gold
and eyes of innocence
she was so blind to all around her
but she did not care for she was happily swinging in the wind
oh how I wish I could feel like that again
blind to the reality around me
blind to the painful and unfair world
that girl was me
I long to be her once again
but I never will be
for not long from that time
my eyes popped open to the reality of the world
my heart now jaded and cold as stone
it once held so much joy and warmth
now when you look in to my eyes what do you see
for they no longer hold innocence not after all I have seen
I will tell you what you would see
a blank look
nothing
it took me a long time to master that look
but now ppl can no longer read me
no longer read my weakness
and use them against me
for with this look I am safe
oh how I long to be that little girl one again
care free and happy
smiling and laugh
just swinging it the wind
