Swing Me Poem by Will Fiala

Swing Me

How’s it we’re meant to be
Who passed us the word
Now you’ve left and set me free
Upside down absurd

Swing me high, swing me low
And now you tell me I must go

That inside me says that I
Missed the mark someway
Dictating that fault is mine
It takes two to play

Swing me high, swing me low
And now you tell me I must go

You were my lovin’ confidant for all those years
Did you think I fooled you, don’t you think I cared
Day after day we had to fight our falling tears
Did you think I fooled you, when I said I cared

Swing me high, swing me low
And now you tell me I must go

You were my lovin’ confidant for all those years
Did you think I fooled you, don’t you think I shared
Day after day we had to fight our falling tears
Did you think I fooled you, when I said I cared

How is it we’re meant to be
Our future’s come unglued
Trav’lin’ through our heart’s shadow
Witnessin’ the truth

Swing me high, swing me low
And now you tell me I must go, yes

Swing me high, swing me low
And now you tell me I must go
