Sweethearts Forever

It takes a fool
To love another fool
And yes I know this all too well
A man so full of despair and disdain
Lashes out!
Yet nobody cares, except I
Except I of course
Because there's only one thing
That draws me near you
It hurts like hell to admit this
Beyond a doubt I am certain
A rope tied around two hearts
Can never come undone
So here we are
God help us if we actually plunge
To our death
My blood is your blood
And your blood is mine
Our souls sewn together
With a needle and thread
A form of passion
That questions all judgments
Love is not a crime
Unless it's a real commitment
I stumble upon your philosophy
Twenty pages long
Too many words to count
I can imagine how much of an inspiration
I must be
Still, a man so full of despair and disdain
Lashes out!

Only twenty pages long? I'm liking the guy already. As a scientist/non-denomination christian/poet I have a theory that the bonds of love are genetic, not rational, and even worse not even feelings (I hope I'm wrong) . It all goes back really to what your mom used to tell you, 'You need to be careful dear about who you choose to be your friend.' The guilty party, as near as I can figure it, is propinquity. The more intimate you are with another the more you 'become one flesh.' And as the Bible says, if you are open to the possibility of truth in its pages, 'What God has joined together, let not man put asunder.' OK, OK! It's a theory.

And I could be wrong about this too, but I'm guessing you are good for each other. : -) A for loving becoming a crime when a real commitment is formed, is that because you don't really want to kill each other until the commitment is formed? Sorry, being from OK I'm kind of slow. I mean they don't even each us evolution in school (or much of anything really) . And of course nothing at all about sex!

Funny how people embrace others through the pain in which they can relate. Great poem I dig it!
