Sweet Midsummer! - Sonnet- Poem by Manjeshwari P MYSORE

Sweet Midsummer! - Sonnet-

When Sweet Roses Bloom in abundance
With Sunrise the golden corns shimmer
A Brush of Beauty at every gazing glance
Richness of the Harvest of Sweet Midsummer

Sweet Murmurs of lonely Koels at Love Bay
Each reckless bird sings in search of its pair
Capitvating the listeners, nevertheless to say
Enchanting deep echoing voices fill the air

Koel couples seek nests of other birds to lay
Flock and devour black berries of Curry tree
A Distant Nightingale sings Night and Day
Songs of Love and the Joy of being free

Nature surpasses with Summer solstice
Wonders that Earth does lovingly entice.
