Swastika Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Swastika

Swastika

I possess two ears
-also eyes; possibly a brain

I hear and observe
-then grind to digest

Then come thoughts
-with puzzles, problems
-in times joy

Heard of a senator
-the MP had comment:
-"TRC has not said the good side…"
-meant schools that took the
-First Nations' children
-by force and ignored
-kids, and parents
-intention obvious:
-"Get rid of Indian
-in small children! "

Though I could never say, or repeat
-what has said Ms. Lynn Beyak
-still I believe in not choking
-voices, necks…
-they open our eyes on
-Conservative politics
-let Lynn and Gairdner
-say what we cannot
-say of the Hitler-likes

What is the extreme in Europe?
-anything but what was Hitler's mind
-and his words and his signs?

Danger lies in censor
-shit turns to treasure
-so let the swastika
-be allowed everywhere
-dictators who raise walls
-are shame and we shall not!
