Surrogate Soul Mates Poem by Ted Sheridan

Surrogate Soul Mates

Rating: 5.0

In parallel universes of black and white with Technicolor dreams in-between
The lady Sara surfaces just above the rest with soft and ancient breath
To calm and smooth my venture's rippled boundaries
Wherein I have only come this far with so much left to go beyond the fold
The lady Sara has seen and done it all before and informs me well
For I am the ever constant naysayer of a twice bitten and poisoned man
Forgetful that we all are capable if we can survive the initial shock of letting go
Ya anal retentive as I may be… I try and try to release my inner self
Only to find that a diet full of fruits and fiber doesn’t really help
A constipated and bound personality such as me
To free his bowels
Of the crap that binds the world to the other stars
But the lady Sara….she sees them twinkling bright
When I view only the darkness of their light
And together we discover many things in the Technicolor dreams in-between
Where lovers may fear the depth of their commitments
Soul mates are eternally free to roam…
