Surrender This Battle Part 2 Poem by Virginia Her

Surrender This Battle Part 2

Rating: 2.0

Now, I have trouble sleeping
Not because of any substance
But because you are always present in my dreams
Consisting of 'false hopes'
And the endings are always the same...

The opening of my eyes
The realization of reality kicking in
Waking up to a world where you are not mine
And again, my fantasy dies...

Why is it my eyes alone
That sees your beauty, your sweetness, and sincerity?
The sides of you which always seem to impress me
The more I find out, the more I am intrigued

The kind of person you are
So unique, interesting, refreshing
You are indescribable
The way you make me feel

Can't seem to get enough
You leave me in my own world
Trying to figure you out like an unsolvable puzzle
A puzzle so stubborn, I wonder why it's so hard to put together
Maybe it is not I who is meant to fit the pieces…

This battle between us has left me beat
You, using your charm as a weapon
And your torturing words as the bait
You've lured me into this world of dreams
But what you did not see was that you were my weakness all along

It's time I admit, 'You've won'.
The white flag has been waved
Surrendering for now,
But I’ll be back
Winning the battle,
You must feel great,
But don't forget...
The war has just begun…
