Surprise
It’s amazing to realise
That I can still surprise myself
It’s amazing to realise
That I know myself so little yet
It’s amazing to be able to laugh
With the child whom I had left
stranded in the courtyard
of age
It’s amazing to be able to cry
With the fool I had
One day so encouragingly
Pushed me on
It’s amazing to be able to love
With the young man who just yesterday
Had told me
It’s okay.
