Superhero Poem by Unnamed Weirdo

Superhero

Rating: 4.5

In the cold cruel darkness
In a world thought so careless
Here lies, broken down
Apathy with a halo crown
I never thought it'd come to this
Never dreamed I'd miss
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour,
All that I am is a zero

The world has never been kind
It's become its own mangled mind
Where it begins is where it ends
Throwing around a debt it spends
I see it come crashing through
Can't believe the sky could be so blue
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour
All that I am is a zero

It's like a dark evil secret
Within blank minds, well kept
A dying remorse of unshed tears
Playing angel against all fears
My illusions have desperately shattered
breaking dreams, it settles in tattered
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour
All that I am is a zero

They have no longer any desire
Lost all their passionate raging fire
Sizzling bubbles of pure nothingness
succumbing to a vacuum of emptiness
I'm not listening, can't watch it unfold
Waiting for it, over, lose its hold
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour
All that I am is a zero

They seem to have lost all their meaning
Don't even know what they're saying
Mangled up chimeras in mere confusion
What came to this stupid conclusion
I need no knight in shining armour
Can't find a prescription any further
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour
All that I am is a zero

Doctor's got it all wrong somehow
People have misjudged me now
Can't save themselves, what a pity
Think they can save me from me
Save me from this cruel place
Stitch back a bruising face
All that this is

They say I need a superhero
Someone to save me
That with no saviour
All that I am is a zero
