'Super Glue' Poem by Linda Winchell

'Super Glue'

Rating: 5.0

I tried to fix a broken tea cup
instead I super glued the cup to me!
Now I can hold on with one finger
while having my morning cup of tea!

So I tried to cut myself away
but it wasn't as easy as I thought!
I pulled the cup away from my bonded skin
but only rebroke the cup!

Now when I super glued it back together
I only got re-stuck again!
And don't think that I'm breaking free soon!
And can't tell you, really just when!

I think there's a super glue conspiracy?
Some super, duper thing goin on?
Cause why would others like myself
end up like me a, super bond?

Ever wonder why There's more glue there to try To fix whatever you choose? More than you'll ever use. So you put the tube away Where it'll be there for another day. And sure enough the time comes when You've broken something again. Take that wonder bonding agent From the place where it's been sent To reserve if for this time Repairing each and every kind. Only to discover that super glue Has an affinity for something new. The cap is sealed, Oh so tight And can't be removed with all your might. So you twist and turn Till finally a reward you've earned Out the super glue comes a bursting Covering everything and a gluing! s
