Sunshine Friends



they always come
to my party
and baptisms and weddings
and even funerals
not because
they are happy when i am happy
or sad when i am sad

not that they mourn
or rejoice with me

it is because of the food
served hot on the table
and the drinks
ice-cold
the ice still clinking

some sparkles
and glitter
only for a while
