Sunset In The Mojave Poem by Juan Olivarez

Sunset In The Mojave

Rating: 5.0

Bright orange, and purple, sunset,
Beyond the mountains in the west.
Light in beams glaring yellows and reds,
The life giving orb is going down fast.

The magical twilight is in the air,
Fairy dust flies on every breeze.
As I gaze at the beauty, I hardly dare,
Ask God to 'save this moment please.'

The sun going down pushes shadows towards me,
Strange fantastic figures on the ground.
Goblins Centaurs, a veritable sea,
All of a sudden they're all around.

The wonders that filter through my eyes,
Are locked forever in my brain.
This magic moment fairly flies,
As the brilliant colors start to wane.

And finally the mountains conquer all,
The sun has set on another day.
The shadows disappear they heed the call,
The advancing night is on the way.
