Sunset Poem by William McGehee

Sunset

Patience, Patience now my son.
Patience, watch the sun sink lower.
Drink deep the moment till it’s done.

Ease, for now, your head long run
And hold for just a half an hour.
Patience, Patience now my son.

Think on the web the Fates have spun
And hold that thought a little longer,
Drink deep the moment till it’s done.

Once the spectacle's begun
Gaze upon the shifting colors
Patience, Patience now my son.

And with the setting of the sun
Wish that life would move much slower
Drink deep the moment till it’s done

Enjoy each sunset as they come
Silent as the world grows colder.
Patience, Patience now my son,
Drink deep the moment till it’s done.
