Sunny Day To Thunder Storm Poem by Miranda Dodge

Sunny Day To Thunder Storm

Clear day, few clouds
Light winds blowing
Animals playing
Then thunder roars, animals stop
Lightning comes and animals run for shelter
Baby foal lost without his mother,
Struck in the storm, no where to go
Mother full of panic, she can't find her baby
Thunder roars and lightning strikes
Hitting a tree, the tree falls, almost hitting the foal.
Mother sees and goes for her baby
She calls for him, but he can't hear
Struck with fear
Fire picks up, thunder roars
Closer and closer
Mother gaining on her baby
When she reaches him
She pushes him away from the fire
Getting him to run, and they run to shelter
When the storm is over there land is destroyed
Homes, water, food, all gone
They must hurry before it is too late
It's time to clean the land.
