Sunlight Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Sunlight

I just want to bask in your sunlight
Even if it would hurt
But I know you'd keep me in shade
And you'd know, what you and I were worth

Please tell me, that you'll love me despite the hurricane
That this love of ours isn't only sweet, its bittersweet
But I don't mind my coffee too strong like that
Do you mind it that way?

I keep feeling the industrial backside and the shade
Colliding and integrating with the seaside and nature
Like this soft breeze of wind
As I kiss and whisper, wishing it would reach your lips

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Have you met a person who's so bright it hurts? Have faith that you'll be in shade by them, because true love recognizes the suffering and struggles made for it
