Sunder The Cumerbund Poem by John W. McEwers

Sunder The Cumerbund

The blue suit
I wore at our wedding
was recently victim
to a fit of megalomania

broken robin's egg
trembles in my hand
and a pair of scissors
held like a knife
fills my fist

one more mistake
to write down
when all I wanted
was to let out the waist
to match my new girth
