Summertime Poem by Christina Phan

Rating: 5.0

Summer is here
You are in California
I'm over here
It's driving me crazy
I just want see you and hear your voice, for the last time
There is a wall that you break down
I was surprised only you could do it
Every since you break my heart so many times
I change so much
I can't sleep, focus, and kept crying over you
When I miss you so much, I need you
Even if I get rid your stuff, I can't still get over you
I love and hate you
No one can't help even
Every time I look at your pictures, I think back on all memories we have together in class
Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I say yes
When you ask me out, would I happier?
How your friends would take us going out?
The only reason I didn't went out with you is because I was afraid of commitment
It was me, not you
I never felt like this before
I feel bad and I wish I just went out with you
I don't let anyone else in my life all because I don't want to feel this pain and tear
Now I need to found love and sweet person to be with
Who isn't like you
You don't want me anymore so is best to just pick up my heart and glue it back
I need to move forward and forget you

I can see that Free Verse is your preferred style since every poem that I have read (so far) is Free Verse. Know what? I think Free Verse is one of the easiest, if not the easiest, style to funnel passion. Now, I'll admit, and don't take this the wrong way, that you do have work to do as far as how to write (grammer) but the poem itself has a deep depth to it. I can imagine that you were in a lot of pain while writing this and each word was like a tear drop. Don't know if it was close to that but I'm assuming that it's something like that. To be honest, I think this is your best poem so far. Good job, Christina.10/10
