Summer's Yearnings Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Summer's Yearnings

Rating: 2.8

Summer's eyes look to me for heat and flowers
spring buds adorning her.

I am cast as Spring Calling

buds my Siren Flowers.

I rise

inside her

flower petal Springings

because I

always heat her from the inside
lying down with her Summer Fevered Longings.

her roses blooming from my Pollinations;

giving rise to her Summer Glories

she grasping
my Spring
Offerings
and my
quivering buds.

'What good it be
dressed up in Summer Light' she says

'in Summer Perfumes

if you do not arrive each time

to kiss me in my feverish night? '

'What sates sweet summer lips'longings
without spring kisses joining;
kisses which seal souls
in unspoken understandings;

lips where mouths caress in the secret
summer night;

hearts pounding
breasts melding

clutched in Destiny's Yearnings
wet mouths

crimson cheeks beaconing

we two lost
in Shuddering's Desires
pressed close
two on two

between us then
Love's Single Season,

because lovers
make things
previously apart

into One
and
Discrete Time
fades into
into
Summer Eternities.'
