Summer Evenings Poem by Ankush Nagpal

Summer Evenings

Rating: 5.0

Just like a tired man goes to sleep,
The hot sun goes down

Just like a hot beverage gradually loses its heat,
The hot dry air cools down

Just like the burning wood loses its heat,
The hot summer day cools down

Just like the voice of a waterfall,
The cool evening breeze soothes us

Just like we slowly rise from sleep,
People confined in homes come out

Just like the peacock dances when the rain comes down
Jolly children begin to play as the sun goes down

Just like a kid searches for his lost toy,
Birds searching for food come out

Just like the innocent smile of a baby cools our temper
The summer evenings cool us down
