Summer Poem by Steffi Webster

Summer

The sun is warm, the breeze on my face
I can't help but feel at one with this place
I relax in the trees ample shade
And hear the bird's sweet seranade
The grass is soft and green and lush
Time is no problem, no need to rush
I fall back into serenity
And watch the birds gliding, high and free
Riding the breeze in that sky so clear
It feels like there isn't a thing called fear
The smells of summer stroke my face
As nature too slows down a pace
I listen to the baas of sheep
And smile as carefree lambs do leap
This feeling of peace in my soul so deep
I wish I could take it home to keep
But this feeling, here must remain
In this harmonious domain
