Summer Poem by Austin Heffner

Summer

Waking up on a Saturday Morning
The clean fresh breeze blowing in the patio door.
Feeling the warm bright sun you want some more.
So you stand and look out the patio door.
What about the feeling of the cold tile on your feet.
It kind of feels like crawling in to bed with an ice cold sheet.
Feet that want you to go outside and hear the birds peep.
And make you want to just jump in the pond and dive deep.
Then to get out later to feel the brisk night air
Or hear thunder roar like a big black bear.
O summer is a delight,
Even better with no night.
