Suicide Poem by Thomas Fontenot

Suicide

What can end this torment?
Encompassed by sadness and depression
The girl of my dreams, that's it
She is with me now, all is well
Time passes, despondency returns

What can end this torment?
Life is dull and gloomy
A new home will bring joy
Stately residence I attain
Brief pleasure, then despair

What can end this torment?
Again disheartened
Perhaps a new craft will suffice
A thriving profession was launched
Upswing, supplanted by hopelessness

What can end this torment?
Immeasurable distress now
Nothing outside quenches
I dare not look inward
unbearable pain, complete defeat

What can end this torment?
The irreversible sacrifice
everlasting annihilation

Tough write, perhaps about men who believe material advancement will bring happiness! Not! Happiness comes from within, and giving without! Enjoyed the poem, though dark!

No negation, no despondency. If there is only happiness, life will be dull and monotonous.Let's enjoy life with delight and despair, light and darkness.Negative and positive can only be the source of energy.Nice diction.
