Suddenly Poem by Chris G. Vaillancourt

Suddenly

Rating: 4.9

Suddenly I am thrown and tossed,
...................broken and fixed.
Discontent. Unhappy.
Content. Happy.
Watching cars sit at the curb.
Pretending they are all mine.

And if they were, I'd drive them
..................to many empty parking lots.
Fill up the spaces.
Fill up the spaces.
Desert them.
Collect them later and
.................set them on fire.
But I know this is not real.
My lighter does not even have fuel.

Ah, but perhaps the store
................is still open?

Suddenly I am equally unaware
..................of squalid conditions
............................and
.......................equally perverse
..............................attentions...
Open and shut.
Shut and open.

Good friends always help
................their friends to cry.

I believe when you wrote this, you let the emotion go along with your words as well, because i follow the echoes and the feeling as much as.... length you giving here..well done_Soul

A poem expressing rapidly changing emotions - not uncommon for some of us. The last lines are perhaps the most touching. Friends are supposed to stop our tears, not encourage them. This is where most friends fail. Well done, a 10 from me.

such a very emotional peace of writting, written in such away you can put yourself in this situation and emotions and just fit and feels the real poetry runs through your vains as it invades your feeling and thoughts.

The abrupt swings of mind and mood have been portrayed well in this poem. An excellent work! I may be wrong, but I would like to interpret the last two lines of your poem differently from some of the poets who commented. I would like to think that you meant good friends play a cathartic role, by helping the afflicted to cry and relieve him, to some extent at least, of the grief or sorrow or void feelings.
