Such Is Life's Story Poem by Srivinay Salian

Such Is Life's Story

Hot viscous flowing matter
Poured into casting mold
Designed and fashioned
To be toyed and controlled

It blinks and comes to life
In womb of a creation unit
Surrounded by machinery
And element of space in it

And so it travels uncontrolled
Hooked on to a conveyor belt
Experiencing a new world around
And pilot feelings to be dealt

So, this is life - it ponders
Ah, am I not so blessed to be
To come to the world as such
And the freedom to be me

The belt takes it on a ride
Up and down, low and high
It goes through the motion
Be it elated joy or desperate sigh

Towards the end, it sees
A dark cave far ahead
Ignorant of what awaits
Mildly, it gets afraid

Seeking ease, shuts its eyes
Murmurs - such is my life’s glory
Have been thru' highs and lows
I am unique, unique is my story

Through a dark blinding sheet
It passes to another zone
To fall amidst zillions alike
That it had never known

Seeking ease, shuts its eyes
Murmurs - such is my life’s glory
Have been thru' highs and lows
I am unique, unique is my story

Then steps to the one, nearby
Hi, Am Barbie, and am unique
Zillions go live, with the chime
Hi, Am Barbie, and am unique
