Subtle Gossamer Poem by Annapurna Sharma

Subtle Gossamer

Rating: 5.0

Was it a solemn promise to be with me all your life?
Or a spurious intention to deceive and dwell in infidelity!
Can you break the subtle gossamer of truth and false?

Did you forget the whispers of ‘yes' I am there in all your pits and falls?
In your dark mind was it a ‘no' shunning me with my disabilities and deficiencies!
Can you tug the fine film that masked the ‘yes' and ‘no'?

You made me a piece of you and treasured me like the jewels of your crown!
Were you plotting to distance away from the air scented with my skin?
Can you wrench the love and hate cobwebbed together?

I am you, a crimsoned rose in the verdure shrubbery!
Did you imagine me to be a rose in a remote garden where I can't be sniffed?
Can you shear the tenuous links of you and me?

Wasn't it an oath to hide in the burrow in the lap of the warm earth?
Did you nurture silent desires to rise in the azure sky in liberty?
Can you erase the floating line on the horizon?

I mingled and blended in an aura of bliss!
I challenge you to be poignant like the bare tree of winter!
Can you ruffle the pleasure and misery caught in the wilderness?

To be one soul, though bodies scattered and lost!
To be two trees miles away unknown and unaware of each other!
Can you break the subtle gossamer of being one or two?

An insightful depiction of intimate strangers in brave utterances set aside for honest contemplation. Focussed and factual. Thanks for sharing Annapurna and welcome to Poemhunter. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
