Struggle For Time Poem by Jason Murak

Struggle For Time

Time sits still when you want it to pass
Tic-Toc goes the seconds, Re-united at last
But this Time, I felt like the clock was against me
It didnt want this to happen
Yet Time for you, gave you time to be
to be yourself and to above all be free
But time for me, felt like slavery
Locked down in a prison of bitter-sweet savory
Time for you gave you time to let others in
Time for me stopped, I couldnt tell when again It'd begin
While Time worked against me, I fought back in a counter-clockwise direction
Pushing the forces of time in reverse,
But then I realized fighting time, let Time win
Because time ran on its own schedule
And though time is of the essence, time hasnt given me his blessings
And now Time for me, has run out
Time took hope with him too
Just when I thought time took all that it could,
Time rushed back in, and took all that was good
Time left me broke, so I worked hard for that overtime pay
But Time rushed back in, and took that away
I said I'd get it another day
So Time decided to leave me stuck in the past
I decided to sleep. Hoping Time would leave me atlast
And leave my eloped hope with me, and all that is good in peace
Time left in my dreams that night, And i woke up to the
Tic-Toc of the seconds, and I was re-united at last
