Strike Out Poem by Airda Jones

Strike Out

The strikes are against me
More than you could count
But I don't think it's fair
To just single me out

She's human, just like me
Yet her failures pass by
But add one for the tally
Another strike of mine

I've messed it up
But so has she
And my cruel punishment
Is watching her go free

I can only suffer so much
Before I cross the line
Is that what you're asking for?
For me to cross it this time?

She wins first place
Takes the prize for home run
While I sit on the benches
One more strike and I'm done.
