Street Poetry Poem by Patrick Derilus

Street Poetry

Just another day in the life of a youngblood...
Trying to thrive and survive, not aiming to be a young thug...
Racist demons in blue trying to pursue him...
Scandalous females attempting to fool him
The mother is trying to subdue him...
The father is trying to abuse him...
From every dawn to dark, he faces street paranoia...
From every dawn to dark, he suffers another loss...
To relax the mind, he keeps in touch with Mary Jane
As days go by in the streets...
Things will never be the same.
