Street Person Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Street Person

Rating: 3.1

Oh what a cagey vagrant
Slumming yourself flawlessly
Garbage bags filled to overflow
As you pace the city streets endlessly
Your palace came free of charge
Orange crate and designer cardboard
A woolen nesting blanket inspired
Your dream time into warmth
Foraging for a living
Everyday a new adventure
Setting out in the concrete jungle
To dig for more hidden treasure

(This was written because of my anguish of
The lives of many whose lives have been
Driven to the streets.)

and again thank you...this is a sad write on my paret as this is a cause i really am drawn to. it truly does hurt when i see the plight of many who are just like you and i, but through bad luck or midfortune, lost everything only to end up, some with children homeless...cold and starving! Kind regards, Theo
