Streams Of Desire Poem by Albert Ralph

Streams Of Desire

STREAMS OF DESIRE

This, like so many of the others, is so much more effective, if one can hear the music as well. The ethereal start, with breaks between stanzas for melodic development, gradually build into a crescendo of acoustic guitars, and then...............
The chorus, 'No amount of rain', begins the 'NO AMOUNT OF VOLUME'. is enough for the rocking finish.
Question and answer, lead and backing vocals finish the lyrical portion of the chorus,
and then the guitars just get... uh.... er... well........... stupid! ! ! ! !

Reprise the verse and chorus, and freak out on the guitar until the A&R man turns down the volume.
There is a curious change of person in the line where 'raindrops are feediing somebody's purpose with resolve.'
24 Years later, I can't remember why.

March 1983

Walking on a not quite idle wander.
My only destination is ahead.
With purpose, though sometimes misdirected,
Forging, trudging through life’s rough terrain.

Clouds come, and windblown tears on my face.
At first, the cool rain feels so fresh.
Then the rhythm of my steps grows more determined.
As the raindrops feed your purpose with resolve.

Girl, no amount of pain, can keep me from loving you,
No amount of rain can put out the fire.
Blowing in the rain are tears that I cried for you.
Flowing in my veins are streams of desire.
For you love.
