haunting image
glass shattered
view spies

ruin framed
in passion
never write

builds burns into
hair trigger
written explosion

small arms fire
flashes in crossfire
bite the bullet

wounds bleed
blood flow
life draining

grenades bombs
shrapnel zings
bridge storms

battle rages
until river
crossed

held or blown
into arches
empty spanning

air enfolding
spaces allowing
no point connection

union action
expended
collapses in

stalemate
bridge not taken
bridge to far

bridge lost
nothing wrought
no cross over
