Strangled Poem by Kathryn Garner

Strangled

Rating: 0.5

You now take my life in your hands
A life you could never understand
But try to strangle the edges away
And letting myself stray
From it all
The edges of a scene are burnt
And black
And there’s no taking back w
What I said
For the next breath wont come
Strangled till my breath is gone
The details fade
And the lighting saves
Me from this suffocated world
Hands on my neck
Taking the rest of my life away
Strangling the rest of my life away
Cant breath, I cant scream
Of the abuse that’s happened to me
And the guilt now chokes out my feeling
And my eyes image is peelings
Away from reality
This crude masterpiece that I’ve lived
Now fades away
Burns and strays away
From where my mind lays
In these two cold hands
Strangled by a man who could never understand
What he’s done to me
What he’s done to this world I see
How faded, how very dead
Killed, raped, by his hands
By the words he said.
The edges fade in my head.
My life fades in my head.
Only know his hand on my neck
Taking the rest of my life away
Strangling the rest of my life away
