Stormy Poem by Wm George Hess

Stormy

Stormy

Stormy comes in
Lion-like motion
Important, determined
Lap seeking

He springs in to Maxine’s
Kneads her arm for a while
Jumps down and
Leaves for the hall.

He assumes an independent air
Behaves as though
He doesn’t care
And when we call he ignores us

But when the pantry is opened
No matter how far a way
He must hear the small
Gotta fix that door squeak

He runs
His legs and feet like a cheetah
Chasing prey
Thud on the hardwood floors
And begs for his treat
