Storm Tossed Soul Poem by Faustina Marie

Storm Tossed Soul

I turn away
Unable to bare anymore
Of the sorrow
I can't seem to dissolve

Then you catch my arm
I turn into your warm embrace
I know you understand me
You want to help, like me

Your smooth voice echoes
In my mind as you try to console
But I don't want the words
I'm not the one who needs them

You promise me you can make it right
'I know you will' words only whispered
Because I know they're what you want to hear
But you have promised me the world

Yet, my fight, my wounds, my tears
Aren't my own, I've inherited them
From another comrade- friend
Fix them and I will be forever grateful

I walk off alone, the crisp strong
Wind pushing me back to you,
I keep going as the clouds swarm in
Dark and heavy as the heart
I clasp tightly to me
Struggling to hold it together,
It is love of another kind that breaks me

Cold rain shatters the earth
Trying vainly to wash away the wrong,
Only mixing with the tears
That stain the path I wander down
