Stone Poem by Michael Brock

Stone

Stone, my heart is stone
all around the stone stands firm
without shadows of past or present
it stands stone cold and firm

My memories are all of stone
the times that as a child I'd hide
in the stones beside the road
as people walk by they only saw stone

My mind now feels as one with it
the cold firm hardness of stone
the city is slowly becoming stone
and my heart, it is as stone.

At times, in life, the tougher it is with us, the sharper we become. Go excel more, Michael!

Stony heart and stony looks In stone images I see books In phantoms of mind I delight In imagination we love or fight. CP
