Poet's Notes about The Poem

It was suggested that this may be suitable for a song, so I have added a refrain:

Stolen moments
Stolen moments
are all we have
My resolve cave
Only stolen moments

I hope and pray that life showers happy moments on you as a rightful owner and you no longer have to steal them...why must happiness be entwined with sadness and farewell? (Report) Reply

    A nice poem.
With breath-taking insolence I offer the following:

Your key no longer fits the door.
    We cannot meet anymore.
I have tried to say 'Goodbye',
but you will be the one to try
and keep this pledge as we did before.

    The champagne is standing chilled,
ready for our glasses to be filled.
The lights are turned down low,
and the music is playing very slow,
For this last meeting by me willed.

The coded knock upon the door
    signals me to quickly pour
    the glasses to half measure.
I let in my life's treasure.
Your presence fills my very core.

    Our bodies hungrily entwine
    fuelled by the ample wine.
    Passions are riding high
    as you finally say, 'Goodbye.'
I know you will always be mine. (Report) Reply

I am from Bangladesh, now staying in USA for study, I want to translate it to my language, Bangla. Can I? I am urging a permission to poet. The poem is awesome. (Report) Reply

The stolen moments are beyond precious and the loving feeling is inmmense; but the good-bye's are very heart-breaking. Nice one

    Blessings,

Well thought out piece of writing. Has the theme of an
Illicit love or impossible relationship that can only survive
    for brief intervals. (Report) Reply
