Stolen Poem by fortunate thembekile xulu

Stolen

he's been stolen away from me
the one who was suppose to love and protect me
the one who was suppose to kiss me goodnight
now all that's left is the smell of loss
the booze has taken my father
snatched him away from me
leaving me empty and shallow
now all that's left are the memories i never had
the memories that could've been
now he'll never know how much i love him
he'll never know when i had my first kiss
he'll never know when i took my fisrt steps
he's been stolen from me
by the one thing i hate- alcohol
now all that is left are the painful memories
of my hero tearing me down with an axe
the painful scream of my brother's agony
and my mother's blood on my hands
he's been stolen from me
the father i never had
