Still I Need Me A Smile To Move On Poem by Chuks Kevin Nwaokolo

Still I Need Me A Smile To Move On

On my way to riches,
I stumble and fall,
Confusion stood in form of human,
Mouths stood agape,
To say the ward,
He's not gonna make it,
I could hear the voices of discouragement,
Still I need me a smile to move on.

On my way to riches,
Obstacle took the best place in my path,
My surrounding all menacing,
Friends laugh at me,
Because they are the boss,
They made me apologize,
For what I new nothing about
Still I need me a smile to move on.

Because I...
Still need me a smile to move on,
To survive even in my darkest hour,
To smile even when there is no reason to,
Today I stand out in the crowd,
Into the eyes of those who wish me bad,
I see discomfort,
As disappointment shook their hands.

And I say to em...
I'm still smiling,
Because I made it,
Because...
I'll always need me a smile to move on.
