Stereotypes Poem by Ema Nekaf

Stereotypes

If you like to shop and gossip and are full of pep,
You are classified as a prep.
If you like to play sports and nerds you mock,
You get labeled as a jock.
If you sit in corners and have eyeliner in tow,
You are now renamed emo.
If you do well in school and want to get somewhere in the world,
You are now called a nerd.
If you like to wear black and conformists you scoff,
You must be a thing called goth.
If you practice your tuba seven days a week,
You get a label called band geek.
But a person is a person no matter their name,
And mocking them provides you no gain.
