State Street Poem by Michael Peterson

State Street

Crowded streets, people everywhere
Shops lining both sides of the street
A little of everything, local and overseas
Dress, shoes, bikes, clothing, a store for everyone
Restaurants of all kinds
Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, French, Italian
Food for everyone
The shopping mecca for Madison
The landscape, so beautiful
The outdoor tables, full of talkers and laptops
Sipping on all flavors of coffees
So many people of all ages come
Musicians playing every corner
The sounds so breathe taking
The bars of all flavors of beer
Places for friends and family to meet
A day on state street is a marvelous time
Tasting the different foods, enjoying the drinks
Talking the chat, laughing along the way
An experience everyone should take
An enjoyable day, the price worth the pay
Madison a special blend of life
It's a culture of its own
Opened minded and free to roam
State Street the heart of the city
