Stars Poem by Edwina Reizer

Stars

Hey! stars in the evening skies
when you shine down on me
I see your light with my eyes
but here's the irony.

You burned out long ago they say
and your light took its time
traveling to reach me from the Milky Way
so I could see you shine.

It's perplexing and very strange
that you were there when I was not.
So far, so out of range,
and now that you've reached me
what pleasure I've got.
