Starman Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Starman

soon I must return
to the place from which I came
dads the alien

my work is all but finished
there is nothing left to do

I have few regrets
I have loved and have been loved
and seen many things

but now my kind call
for I have been gone too long
time is over due

fear not the future, earthling
great things lie ahead for you

living amongst you
many of you beautiful
out number the bad

life will shine on regardless
life is endless, has no bounds

intergalactic
a harmonic universe
symphony of love

within us all the answer
within us all there is hope

for you are the key
to solving great mysteries
but ultimately

destiny is in your hands
and the secret in your hearts

awaken children
you must light the universe
with your dreams and soul
