Starlings Falter Poem by B. Sven Telander

Starlings Falter

Reverent sentience in
black askings of
a severed venture,
luminous tumors,
incandescent chimeras
along a phosphorescent
panorama harken
nocturnal churning
in a prodromic zone.

Equinox of the dogs,
solstice of the cats,
a grinning spinnaker
with radiant cadence
and peripheral equipoise
like the clasped
talons of courting hawks
a free falling
spiral of descent.

Chrysalis of myth,
withstanding the clarion
calls of truncheons on
skulls and other
treacherous lechery,
birth tendrils of sense;
dispersing the glow
of circumstance along
the pathways of eternal song.
