Star Gazer Poem by John McClay

Star Gazer

I wonder what it would be like to be a star?
Shining in the heavens,
Watching over the world

Alone, they are but a speck
Glistening faintly
Sometimes not at all

Together they paint the sky
Bright sparkles
Against a darkened night

Stars are idols to lovers
Iconic almost
Protecting the feelings of the pure

But I wonder what life a star would have
If that star
Is shining alone
