St. Pete’s In Spring Poem by Alexander McGuire

St. Pete’s In Spring

Take me to the Narva
Where our history began
Our love is like the river
That no earthly bridge could span

I’ve loved you for a lifetime
You’re always in my heart
Take me to St Pete’s again
Let our romance re-start

Remember, that small café,
Where we used to meet
We’d chatter the whole evening
About the glories of St Pete

Then afterwards, you’d take me home
Enjoy a kiss, and then
We’d watch the sunset on the city
And learn to love again

Full of memories of a romance of a lost love? To forget such a love is impossible, isn't it, Al? A written nostalgia in a poetry rich in images...in feelings... Thanks for sharing this pictoresque souvenirs woven in lines in perfect harmony of a human experience. A very excellent write. Virginia
