Springtime Serenade Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Springtime Serenade

Early in the morning, as night is ended
A gifted bird is singing in the distance
His name is a mystery…his song is splendid
He summons Spring…he is persistent

The warmth of day is delightfully welcome
Budding trees have faces of returning friends;
shooing away the dreariness of winter's glum
Joyful messengers that signal hibernation's end

Suddenly warm weather takes a drastic turn;
there is a shiver in the air, the tone is very still
Heavenly thoughts die…when will they return
Wishing for a serenade to take away the chill
