Spring Girls Poem by Abdul Wahab

Spring Girls

Bough to bough I bloomed flowers
And at that time it was spring
And all were wrong what I did to gratify my impulse
And I understood this clearly when I was in autumn
Now everything has fallen except my roots
And my roots were not loved by the spring girls
So the damsels of spring came
And very scornfully moved away far off
Now a thorn I am
Even in the eyes of my darling autumn.
