Spring Breezes Poem by Sharad Rajimwale

Spring Breezes

Scented breezes come
flirtatiously brushing expectant
buds and blossoms
shaking and lifting their petals in swinging rhythm

and move up
rushing towards shady treetops
where warbling cuckoo sits daylong
calling out in endless
flow of honey-soaked notes,
ruffling its feathers to a radiant beauty

and swoops downwards
where dormant insects await their
touching grace
to break out in a chorus of
amorous song and scatter in four corners

the breezes touch the wings of
the pair of butterflies ever so lightly
goading it to a crazy dance
of heart's fulfillment

and then climb up and up...
whistling with gay abundance
where philandering clouds in careless dalliance
come closer
and then float away
teasing and taunting
till the scent-laden breezes
arrive eddying and draw dark clouds
closer to white clouds in strange arabesques
throwing around them
a mesh of seductive spell
that enthralls all down on the earth.

Since then the world appears bathed
in a new light of life's meaning
And my vision metamorphosed for ever.
