Sports Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Sports

My neck short
Body square and strong
I was best for boxing, inspired
The time past, practiced in the ring
I wore gloves and cushioned was helmet
One, two, three and start and blood in my nose
We stopped and next time the same thing, new round
I hit him in the nose; he’d done so in first round that stopped.
“Never again” I said and left boxing. “I came in for sport not revenge”

I dislike
What I hear
It smells a stench
It is race not with love
But hatred, misconduct or fear
“It’s Sochi’s Olympic; they are mean.”
Washington and Ottawa-like capitals planted
Disbeliefs and dislikes “Russians are communists”
And more thoughts or beliefs that bring hate-concerns.
